Once you have taken the Smokin’ Aces Arsenal Online License To Carry course you are ready for range qualification. The range qualification covers required shooting proficiency for the State of Texas. In order to complete this class successfully, a student must pass using a firearm that is a 22 caliber or greater. The shooting proficiency test will consist of 50 rounds of timed fire on the state specified target. 20 rounds at 3 yards 20 rounds at 7 yards and 10 rounds at 15 yards. A target will be provided.
You must have a valid Texas drivers license or ID. You are also responsible for the proper attire for the range i.e. collared shirt, closed toed shoes, and a baseball cap if you desire. You are responsible for ear and eye protection, if you don’t have any you can purchase them from us at a discounted rate. You must bring a firearm (at least a 22 caliber pistol) with at least 50 rounds of the coinciding ammunition. If you do not have a firearm you may rent one from us. You must bring documentation from your online course to show your pass rating. You must be 21 and legally able to carry a firearm. You must not be under the influence of any substance.
Once you have done everything needed and you are ready to shoot we will be able to schedule your date and time to fire. You will be required to send in your LTC-100 application to the state for for approval.
